From Tenterden, go down the Appledore Road (B2080) towards Rye. About half a mile after you have passed through series of sharp bends and a half a mile before you reach Appledore, there is a crossroads. The Ferry is signposted, so turn right towards Stone and Wittersham and the Ferry is about 2 miles along, a mile before Stone village.
Alternatively, from Tenterden, you can take the Wittersham Road (B2082) towards Rye. Pass through Wittersham village and after a mile (Wittersham Stocks), the main road bears ninety degrees right but carry straight on towards Stone and Appledore. The Ferry is 3 or so miles along on the right, half a mile past stone village.
From Rye, leave Rye on the Military Canal Road and head towards Appledore. This road ends in a T-junction just outside Appledore. Turn left towards the centre of the village, and turn immediately left again, down Court Lodge Road, which is opposite the Black Lion and Appledore Church. At the end of Court Lodge Road, turn left and the Ferry is a half a mile down the road on the left.
From Hastings, go to Rye and drive around the town. At the roundabout on the far side of Rye, take the first left towards Peasmarsh (also signposted to London, curiously). Over the railway bridge take the first right, and follow the directions above from Rye.
From Ashford, travel to Tenterden. After you pass Homewood School, turn left down the B2080 towards Rye, and follow the first set of directions from Tenterden, given above.
